Building on his recent book Travels in Another Country, this 178 page guide to Skye by Coinneach Maclean takes a deeper dive into the Skye’s places and the fascinating stories associated with them. It particularly aims to correct the many misrepresentations of Gaelic history and placenames over the centuries by writers from the outside, for example today’s tourist literature promoting Skye’s ‘Fairy Bridge’, ‘Fairy Pools’, and ‘Fairy Glen’.
